The Science of a Successful Scan
Getting a professional DVS Score requires clean data. Follow these three rules to ensure your "X-Ray" is 100% accurate.
Rule 1: The "Square" Setup
To measure joint angles correctly, your cameras must be perpendicular (at a 90° angle) to the pitcher. Place one camera directly to the side and one directly behind, approximately 7 feet from the center of the mound. If the camera is at an angle, the data is a guess. The built-in levels on the tripod help guide you.
Rule 2: One Pitch, Two Views
DVS X-Ray requires two specific perspectives—Side-View and Rear-View—to process a score. Both cameras must record the exact same pitch at the exact same time. The included GoPro Remote allows you to sync both cameras with one click, ensuring your data is perfectly matched for a seamless upload.
Rule 3: Bright Lights & High Contrast
High-speed video needs light. Ensure your mound is well-lit (LED lights are best to avoid flickering). Make sure the pitcher "pops" against the background—avoid dark shirts against dark nets so the software can easily track every joint.
